1 形容绿柳茂密，繁花似锦的美景。《荡寇志．第五回》：「父女二人又行了三四十里，一路柳暗花明，水绿山妍。」也作「花明柳暗」。
2 比喻在曲折艰辛之后，忽然绝处逢生，另有一番情景。参见「柳暗花明又一村」条。如：「不要悲观，人生常是处处峰回路转，时时柳暗花明，你不可放弃希望。」
