1 重新给予生命，多用于感谢他人恩泽、拯救的意思。《幼学琼林．卷一．天文类》：「感救死之恩，曰：『再造』」。
2 重新创建，恢复兴盛。《宋书．卷二．武帝纪中》：「天未绝晋，诞育英辅，振厥弛维，再造区宇，兴亡继绝，俾昏作明。」明．胡广〈文天祥从容就义〉：「天祥相宋于再造之时，宋亡矣，天祥当速死，不当久生。」
