1 人名。（西元1845～1919）英国传教士。自西元一八七○年来华，四十余年中，曾创立刊译西书组织，推广集会结社运动，倡设山西大学以推广高等教育，鼓吹变法维新及协助革命运动等。对我国文教、政治方面，具有卓越贡献。
