1 公正能明察事理。语出《荀子．不苟》：「公生明、偏生闇、端悫生通、诈伪生塞、诚信生神、夸诞生惑。此六生者，君子慎之。」后来旧衙署堂前常刻立「公生明」一石，以警戒官吏。
