1 古代一种玉器。扁平，圆形，中央有圆孔。《诗经．卫风．淇奥》：「有匪君子，如金如锡，如圭如璧。」《二刻拍案惊奇．卷一七》：「词人墨客得了此笺，犹如拱璧。」
2 玉的通称。如：「白璧无瑕」、「完璧归赵」。《韩非子．解老》：「和氏之璧，不饰以五采；隋侯之珠，不饰以银黄。」

1 餽赠不受，退还原物。如：「敬璧」、「璧还」。明．张居正〈答豫所吕相公〉：「使旋附候厚惠，不敢当，辄以璧诸使者，统惟鉴原。」
