1 佛经中以智慧能烧毁一切烦恼、无明，所以称为「慧火」。《月光童子经》：「佛若金山晃照一切，闇明坏败；慧火独明，超度群圣之上，德过虚空。」《菩萨璎珞经．卷七》：「慧火焚三毒，舍离度无极。」
