1 比喻辗转相系的亲戚关系。《晋书．卷六五．王导传》：「导尝共悦弈棋，争道，导笑曰：『相与有瓜葛，那得为尔邪！』」三国魏．曹叡〈种瓜篇〉：「与君新为婚，瓜葛相结连。」
2 泛指牵连、纠纷。《醒世恒言．卷三一．郑节使立功神臂弓》：「别的员外没甚事，你却有些瓜葛，莫待我说出来不好看！」
